💨THE FIVE KINGDOMS (II)

Have a look at the summary chart of the five kingdoms.

With this information and also last week's presentations, choose five living things from the list below make a Power Point presentation of five slides (one for each species given) where there appear a photo and main features of the species chosen, see the example:

List of living things (choose one for each kingdom)
Variable options (voluntary):

💨THE FIVE KINGDOMS (I)

Scientists believe that there are over 10 million different kinds of lifeforms, or species, on Earth. Imagine trying to study and understand the lives, patterns, behaviors and evolution of so many different kinds of organisms. Scientists start by classifying lifeforms in groups called kingdoms.

These kingdoms represent a very large group of lifeforms that are all similar in some ways, but can be very different from one another in other ways. The five kingdoms that biologists have developed are the Monera Kingdom, the Protist Kingdom, the Fungi Kingdom, the Plant Kingdom, and the Animal Kingdom:

THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD

THE PROCESS...

  • Choose a topic question/problem to investigate.
  • Your question will drive your entire project.
  • Make sure that your question is something that can be measured and answered by following the scientific process
  • Your question will also be the title of your project.
  • Do preliminary research. Collect and read books for your topic and info from educational web sites.
  • Develop a hypothesis based on your preliminary research.
  • Decide on the procedure that you will use to test your hypothesis.

HOW TO DISPLAY YOUR PROJECT

All the information, steps, process, conclusions etc… should be on the board. Organization will provide you a large table to set up projects during the fair. Groups will have a maximum of 5 minutes to explain, show and answer questions in English about the projects.
